Charlie Cutter, my favorite character from the Uncharted series. I don't usually like relying on referencing stuff so much, but this time I wanted to see how close I could get to the original source (a screenshot from the U4 beta). I'm happy with how it turned out but at the same time wish I could do this without once looking at a reference picture :-\Related content

Having/using a reference is not equall to bad or unproffesional artwork, almost all of the famous artist used ref in thier work, i look at ref as a guide to help us improve on acheiving our goal, i used real life people as ref and if i have to draw them side by side just to get the coloring/ detail right then why not!!
Some people think that by using a reference its cheating but no, what would u color the sky if u did not refer to the real sky color? But i undersatnd some people used them in a wrong way too so to each their own. Lol im being talkative now hehehe pardon.
but at the end of the day its ur choice and dont let other ppl dictate what kind of artist u are..

It's okay!! I understand though, I just kinda wanna get more independent from referencing too much, you know? Like I feel I sometimes use it too heavily as a crutch. But at the same time I think you're right, it's a way you learn and develop so it's not necessarily a bad thing. Thank you for the feedback though, I really appreciate it

yes its also good to stay from references and try doing it your own and experiment. Good job on this piece a really nice and clean work.
