Personality: 
Glass, that’s a good word to describe Mei. She’s emotionless and beautiful. Mei does what she’s told, exactly as she’s told. One would liken her to a blank sheet or a mannequin doll. She is more brittle and sharper that any doll you could ever come across though; maybe one of those old fashioned glass dolls. In truth, no one knows what Mei is ever thinking or if she’s thinking at all. Her mind has been wiped of unnecessary emotions and thought leaving only a robotic shell. She will do anything her masters tell her no matter what it is. She has no remorse, no conscience, no pity. This makes her the optimal killing tool for the ones pulling her strings.

Mei happily rearranged the little glass figures on the shelf. She wanted them just right so the sun would hit them and make them shine brilliantly. She was exceptionally proud of this last batch and wanted everyone to know it. As she hummed along placing the pieces one by one the sun began to peak through the shop window. She was excited, the store would be open soon. Mei loved every part of her life and day. She loved working on her glass, working up front with the customers, and even loved it when she was able to get out a bit running an errand for her parents. 

As Mei set the last of the glass figures down the bell chimed, announcing the first customer. She bounced off her stepping stool and turned to greet the customer with a huge smile. By the time the customer came and left Mei’s mother had come up to the front. She released Mei out to track down some breakfast from the bakers and to make sure she came back with something for her parents, not to eat everything this time; she totally didn’t often eat all the baker’s sweets whatever would give anyone that idea.

Mei trotted along the streets already licking her lips. She wondered what Mr. Baker had made today, blueberry muffins, lemon drops, orange cream rolls? Her mouth was just watering thinking about it all.

Name: Vinyl

Personality: Vinyl will be a part of my series that includes an afterlife made for specifically chosen animals. In this afterlife, they’re given a new ‘magic-like’ form along with season-related powers. In this case, Vinyl is a summer spirit. On Earth, she was a butterfly. In the spirit world, she’s focused on improving art by discovering how different materials can be used for artistic projects, even going as far as learning new methods on how to use magic to form art pieces. She’s quite old, hence why a lot of the spirit world’s materials weren’t used in the artistic space until she came and helped discover them. Actually, a lot of spirits didn’t even understand the full extent of art, not having witnessed a lot of it as an animal, unlike Vinyl did due to her living in a city, undisrupted. This lack of knowledge in spirits led her to offer ‘classes’, of the sort, to help artists get a big place in this realm.

Vinyl is always able to find beauty in everything, constantly seeing art and creativity as a solution to a range of different issues. Though she is not delusional nor oblivious to the negatives in the world, she just tends to rely on the ideals that people would be better off if they chose to focus their energy on creative improvements and positive undertones rather than fighting and the possibilities of negative outcomes. Although not reclusive in any means, she doesn’t get overly personal in relationships. Most of her formed friendships are very old and tight-knit, due to her teachings and blunt nature, it’s hard for her to view another person as someone to get attached to. Plus, she surprisingly fends well with a lack of intense relationships, easily able to only talk to a close friend once a month and still thrive off of the strangers and ‘star’ she interacts with daily.

She truly enjoys watching the world around her, both the creatures and the environments. It’s rare for her to get bored, and even when she does, she quickly fixes it by doing something she enjoys. Not one to allow herself to sulk, instead going to get what she wants with effort and time. Even with her influence in the spirit world, others often find her rude. And it may hold true, in a sense, as she’s very blunt and to the point. She doesn’t take invalid excuses and will call people out on their lies. Past that, she has a tendency to take harmless teasing jabs at people, which they can take the wrong way. Her intentions are pure though, she wants to make those around her the best they can be, it’s just sometimes she goes about it the wrong way. Very real and down-to-earth regardless of the stereotypes behind ‘dreaming artists’,. Doesn’t have rules to how art should be, instead on how the artist should be. Would sit you down and tell you straight forward what you’re doing wrong while still managing to be comforting.

I’m not a very talented artist or writer so I had to do extra stuff to make up for it! Incase if it glitches and doesn’t show something: (I don’t know why it would but I’m a paranoid person) there’s a text image with her name, a song, an art piece, a poem, a moodboard + alt version, and a story. Tell me if something isn’t there and I’ll link it separately !!

Winner can keep the art, the poem, and the song, as long as proper credit is supplied. But the moodboards, the ‘logo’, and writing cannot be kept! Writing is specific to my series so please don’t take anything from it if you win.
