This is great!!!!! It's such a brilliant and efficient way to shade!!!!
I've got only one question. Do you use specific shading color depending on the original color, and color separately? Or do you just use one color for all the area you want to shade, and adjust its opacity later?
Thank you so much for sharing the tips!!!

does this apply to black characters?
π: 0 β©: 1
griffsnuff In reply to Featheryhorse [2015-03-18 11:38:24 +0000 UTC]
A black objecgt is never 100 % solid black unless its some crazy nonreflective substance, but you can barely find that in real nature xD so yes ofcourse it applies to black. Go look at your black clothing in different lights and you can see it for yourself :3

Its not a good way to learn anatomy off of other artists since you also learn their mistakes, study real animals and simplify them from there

Do you choose the colour of the shadows according to the background, or do you just choose a random colour that compliments the object's colours?Β

For just a basic shadow, how transparent do you put your shadows layer?
π: 0 β©: 1
griffsnuff In reply to Maedeer [2013-03-10 23:52:28 +0000 UTC]
xD Ipaint the shadows on the character, I dont use shadow layers on flash art. I choose the shadow colors myself just the way I choose the colors of the markings :3
