Yup ... back with some more Avengers fanart in anticipation of the incoming movie next summer ... this time, obviously, going with this year's BEST Avengers offering and probably the most iconic of all the team members - Steve Rogers aka Captain America!

Anyways, like with Thor before, this one's something of a mix of the new movie version of the costume, and the original comic book version. I guess to that end, the most obvious concessions would be the keeping of the patterning (and, when it goes to colours, obviously the colour scheme ), and I quite like the wings on his cowl ... but I DEFINITELY drew the line at that daft "A" on his forehead - one, that's like a HUGE "shoot me" sign for snipers, and besides, being a Brit geek whenever I see it I can't help thinking Rimmer's "H" () ... which is therefore obviously NOT a cool look ...

Still, just from an artistic standpoint I am MASSIVELY pleased with how well this one's turned out - fair enough, I tried something like TEN different permutations of sketch before I finally got this one to work (often happens when I'm trying the more physical stuff, but rarely THIS bad ), but in the end this finalised end result is pretty f£$%in' SWEET! Especially the inherent movement, the successful () foreshortening, and the smooth replication of the gun in spite of using no reference but what's in my head. That said, the classic Colt 1911 is my ALL TIME fave gun, so ...
