Model

This is a series of pictures taken of my Wife wearing a costume i designed, and made.

the costume is inspired heavily by the Sister of Battle, also known as the militant part of the Adepta Sororitas, and the right hand of the Inquisitorial Ordo Hereticus.

Based on the color scheme of the Order of Our Martyred Lady.

It took roughly 6 months of trial, error, pain and joy to make, several hours a day, usually after work.

Materials are mostly sheet styrene and PVC expanded hard foam, i emphasize, hard, there's really very little that's foam-like about the stuff.

Various reasons for doing this, the main being to see if i could and a good portfolio piece towards prospective employers.

Only One thing. Is the Requiem too heavy to handling it like this? I suppose you should have the wrist broken.
Nevermind. You're gorgeous. Old veteran sororitas sacred heart WH40K player word!

The sacred weapon used by sororitas to kill the heretics, blessed from the emperor. Sorry, in Italy it's called Requiem on the witch hunters manual. It is the 1st of the sororitas trinity sacred weapons: your "Godwyn De'az". The second and the third are: flamer and melta. There is the bolt pistol, also. I have one full sororitas army in the closet, all painted of the "Order of Our Martyred Lady" and ready for battle, old memories of an happy childhood. Happy to see there is some sister moving around in flesh and blood this day, yet.
See you.

ahhh

yeah that's a bolt pistol, rather than a full sized godwyn (or requiem ) pattern bolter.

i really should try making a bolter some time..

This is amazing... I want to try and make something akin to this...I'm just terrified. I don't even know where to begin.
Hats off to you, I'm sincerely impressed.

i had a similar viewpoint when i started, it seemed impossible, but i just approached it slowly and carefully, good costumes involving armor arent as hard as people think.. the trick is patience and good materials..

patience and more patience, and a willingness to throw something away and start again.
i've only been making costumes for two years, and a great deal of that two years is just a case that i had two costumes planned, so in reality, i've only made props and objects for two costumes.. period.
try it, if you haven't already, you might surprise yourself
