Description Major Anatoly Brekhov,
Monster Hunter, circa; 1969

With his 9mm Makarov pistol in hand Major Brekhov drops down and crawls into a tunnel while hunting a tatzelwurm, a dragon-like beast in the forests on the island of Saaremaa, Estonia. Tatzelwurm looks something like a lizard or snake and is usually about six feet long. It has smooth skin covered with scales and two small front legs. Its hind legs are either missing or vestigial and the head has big eyes and looks remarkably cat-like.

This had been a hunt directed by the communist party of Estonia SSR. The cryptid had not been reported as having harmed anyone. Only one document has surfaced regarding the matter, a missive between a Estonia SSR bureaucrat to one of Major Brekhov's superiors indicating that it was not perceived from the Estonian officials that Major Brekhov approached the assignment with much fervor. This was included in Major Brekhov's military record as supporting documentation for a poor annual rating review. There is an unconfirmed report that one of Major Brekhov's children had stated that his father had found the tatzelwurm, but upon learning that it was not a threat to people, reported his failure to located the beast. His father supposedly stated that unless a creature was a threat to humans, there was no reason to just kill it.

However, no official records exist concerning Major Brekhov's supernatural exploits, as all those records were sealed at the time and are believed to have been destroyed of by hardline Communist Party officials after the fall of the Soviet Union.
