Sword-wielding protagonists, who after a chance encounter with the supernatural monsters that plague their world (The Unknown & The Voids) soon meet immortal beings related to the monsters who attacked them just before who show them their new powers (The Overlord of Light & Linne) and become said monster slayers (Shoichi becoming an Agito and Hyde becoming an In-Birth). Said powers have also "infected" other people on that fateful day with those who cannot keep their sanity transforming into imperfect versions of an Agito/In-Birth. Through their adventures slaying said monsters, they meet up with an Agito/In-Birth who transformed painfully into a more monstrous being and fights just as wildly (Ryo Ashihara/Kamen Rider Gills & Waldstein), a blue-clad kind-hearted figure (Makoto Hikawa/Kamen Rider G3-X & Orie) part of an organization specialized in killing these monsters of the dark (The G3 Unit & Licht Kreis) and an Agito/In-Birth who failed horribly to transform properly and though kept his sentience, transformed into a bloodthirsty, reptilian monstrosity who specifically targets Agito/In-Births as their transformations messed with their minds willing them to do so. They soon come face to face with the embodiment of darkness for their worlds who set them off on this path in the first place (The Overlord of Darkness & Hilda) who may seem civil and polite at first, go on massive killing sprees on (Agito/In-Birth)/(Void/Unknown) kind alike.
Both are also strong-willed fighters who never back down from a fight even against unbelievable odds as they fight for the betterment of their friends & family. Both are also pretty good chefs of which a girl with similar powers to them enjoys their cooking (Mana & Linne).
