excellent! Orchids are such lovely plants, and so fragile (in this part of the world many of them have special requirements to thrive). it's a great drawing.

yes...in the philippines we have at least a thousand species that are endemic(found only) in the country.
One majestic flower, the waling Waling (Vanda Sanderiana) has a diameter of 12inches, considered as the queen of orchids, one of the rarest(one mature plant cost 1,500 us dollars).
In america very few species adapt to the temperate conditions, one famed is the moccassin flower and the lady slipper orchids(Cyprepedium species).

I once was...last two years ago i built a garden filled with orchids native to the philippines,(i have two volumes of books smuggled from the nationaL LIBRARY CONTAINING 2000 SPECIES OF ORCHIDS AND THEIR NAMES, SOME I MEMORIZED OBSSESIVELY).ferns, and other raRE BOTANICALS.
I also have 25 species of cactuses. In the morning i will water and sing to them, touch them remove insencts from them.
I buy some from orchid peddlers, others are given to me. But as soon as art got in, i neglected taking care of them and all my plants died, some dried up because i havent watered them.
Sad story huh...but if you will show an org\chid to me i would easily distinguish what species it is.
there are several uniwue and endemic orchids in mexico, there are catlleya orchids, laelia, cymbidium, chiloschista(orchids with roots and has no leaves), paphiopedilum etc...
Im sure marcella loves them.
thank you

I love flowers also, IΒ΄ve some in my hose, to care them is like a therapy for me. In my house we always have flowers in the bedroom and livingroom.
You must know a friend of me, Erick Hagsater, he has some unique Orchids from MΓ©xico.

To talk with orchids while they grow to caress them and take good care of them, remove decayed leaves, insects fertilizing them taight me well to care, even now that i am a father i will remember how i took good care of my orchid babies, and like them if i neglect Zyrus, and taking care of him like the orchids he may WILT, i dont want that to happen...
Flowers makes ones room or home showered with joy...you resort to them as a serene object of beauty...even though i hated painting flowers(except for some minor commissions back then, painting flowers in huge dimensions), i love the actual beauty of them...
Im afraid i got un-updated with the collectors but i do know some great orchids exists in the tropics of mexico, particularly one called the Ghost Flower and the bleeding heart orchid.

Thank you John, i have 12 of these endemic orchid species studies from life, but most of the plants died, i neglected taking care of them.
Most orchids in my collection perieshed because i have no time to care for them, sad story huh?
