This looks really cool, the vibrancy and the style, and the composition on the page. It really draws your eye up on that diagonal and back down. Too bad for the wrinkle in the paper though.

I would expect to see such a quality and visually enticing work to be hanging in the reception area of young, forward thinking, successful corporation.

I was recently asked by a friend from switzerland asking if i would like to sell Mother and son to her...Shell note me...shes very interested in it...how much would you think i'll sell it?

jerryh In reply to gromyko [2006-09-30 12:42:56 +0000 UTC]
Price for a piece is often governed by size, backing material (canvas, paper, wood, etc,) medium (paint, chalk, etc). Thes are attributes you may want to include in the descriptions btw.
Sometimes, price is determined by a more abstract perceived "worth", from the artist's perception or the gallery's perception, or the buyer's perception.
And then, sometimes it is what the market will bear and what the buyer can afford. $5000, $500, $50?
But don't sell yourself short. Unless you will starve if you don't sell a piece, it may be better for you if you ask what you truely think it is worth (say $5000) and not sell than to sell it for much less than you know it should get (say $200).

thanks for the advice...i was about to tell her $500 but I'll ask you first based on the dimensios, material, and her liking...Its made with a watercolor, high quality paint...9X12 " on cogon paper which is a strong material support... so what do you think of the price? she really loved it...see her reactions on our conversation under the Mother and son...

I am pretty new to this aspect also. I have only sold one thing long distance, and we were both trusting enough to send the product/money before receiving the money/product. I just accepted a check on a US bank. In your case, doing things internationally, I am not sure what to advise. Money Order perhaps? I wonder if something like PayPal is useful for this? I don't know.

I have made payments to sellers before using PayPal, but have never received payment that way. Go to [link] and read about it. I am sure that take part of your money for their services, but it might be worth it.
