Darik Trinard, best known for ending the Nirisfallen war through his bloody siege. Now an exile of Lordith and Illaro, Darik worked as a bodyguard usually for merchants looking to protect their goods within the Outer Kingdoms.

Darik thought the undead threat had been defeated but one night, while Darik was guarding a caravan travelling through Circo, that’s when he saw them. His old foes, Nirisfallen Cultists! At first, he thought he was mistaken, but he heard an unforgettable sound… The deep growling of the undead rising from the ground. Darik yelled for the merchants to flee, without the Holy Light Darik could not fight them.

Later, Darik confirmed with the merchants, that they really did see the undead. Darik so desperately wanted to be wrong, but he knew what he saw. Worse yet, somehow the undead had gotten past The Wall (A giant magically forged wall designed to keep the undead in Nirisfall). Despite his exile, Darik knew he had to do something.

Darik travelled back home to Illaro and he was imprisoned. Darik knew news of his return would spread quickly, eventually drawing the attention of Aldos, an old war friend, who was one of Ilaro’s generals.

Darik and Aldos reunited. Darik explained what he had seen, but Aldos could not lend his soldiers, for Ilaro was at war with the nation of Tyros. Aldos explained that Lordith had fallen, and the paladins had disappeared, so they devised a plan to find the Grand Crusader. Aldos provided all the information he could and Darik prepared to set off to Varago Hold to learn anything about the disappearance of the paladins and find out how the undead had returned!

Darik’s return to Ilaro drew the attention of many… There was one person who was VERY interested in meeting a paladin (even an exiled one) so they tracked down Darik… Cliffhanger! Tune in next time to find out about this mysterious person.
