She may be the end product of a cross-breed between man and the macabre, with vampire blood assimilated somewhere in-between, but you never could have expected that to be the most genuine, fundamental and humane creature amidst a cesspool of chaos, who has been through the kind of grief we humans take for granted and understands the facts of life even I know too well. You could say she’s “the only one who makes any sense around this insane asylum”. After getting to know a character like Marceline the Vampire Queen, I not only give more respect to vampires, but more empathy to the alienated who deserve better as much as anyone else.
