But this is the day (or night) Taylor got her scars and her tail cut up. What happened is that the building she was in exploded and due to the impact it stabbed her tail with barbed wire, and shards of metal scratched her up landing her in a bush. Having no clue where her watch was or her fedora she was stuck in place due to the blood rushing out of her system.

Eventually Taylor passed out and waited; waited for her life to be taken away from her, but there was a sign of light. A girl with red hair and blue eyes, found the unconscious platypus healed her back to full health. The girl was none other than Jessie, a girl who was raised on a farm and cares for all animals big or small.

Taylor owed Jessie her life, because if Jessie didn't find her, Taylor would have died that day, so she remained by Jessie's side as her friend and pet.

And that's how she gained her scars and met Jessie.
