Cool! and the fact that they are floating in the sky ads a real sense of mystery, and even danger - you wouldn't want to be standing on their slippery polished surfaces that high up if its windy

Certainly wouldn't want to be standing on them if it was windy - besides - the caretaker would chase you off for making them dirty!!

I don't have a problem with the sky texture, and as it's an abstract and not an accurate graphical representation, I don't think the orientation of the sky is that important! It's more about how it 'feels'!

Part of the sky was rendered in C4D, then I grabbed a photo of a sky and merged them in Photoshop.

very nice screen saver. im curious how did you go about creating this did you make it in cinema4d then used the liquefy filter to get this look. I am planning on doing something similar to this.

I basically made some shapes in C4D, applied some reflective materials, then played with the camera angle to make it a very wide-angle lens.
The only work in photoshop was to use a photo of a sky and overlay it on the C4D sky, then colour and levels layers to finish!

cool. i've never used c4d so i cant say it helps but your image gave me an idea for i picture that i have. i mainly just use photoshop to do my image manipulation. but thanks.
