Description
This was going to be a piece for the latest Luminarium release, but some of the guys there felt it was 'unfinished'. I deliberately left a void on the lower right to counterbalance the composition. Needless to say I've left it as it is.Hope you like it!

I can see why you left it, "unfinished," as they say. I think it's definitely a very well-balanced composition. I do agree with HelixDesigner in that maybe you could improve the depth, that might make the shapes and colors "pop" a little more. Maybe a high pass filter would work?
This is pretty awesome though and it's definitely joining my favorites.

To break from the usual "OMGOGOGOGO I LOVE THIS"... comments... I have to say I think that the colors you used are good but the lighting and the depth could be improved. There are many focal points, although I like the "messy" composition.
Very good overall, and considering its all done in photoshop.

As it's supposed to resemble an old poster print, how would you go about improving the depth? Using blur effects would go against the crisp, graphic nature of the image, so I guess the only other method would be to use areas of less saturated or lighter coloured elements maybe? Would be interested to see how you'd remedy the lack of depth!

Yeah, probably by changing the lighting and working on the shading. Blurring, like you said would go against the crisp feel. There really is no definite answer.
