Description
Carved out of an elk antler with a combination of battery powered dremel and a Foredom flex shaft. This took me 6hours and 25minutes to complete (I log minutes on every carving I do). Next one shouldn't take so long since I now THINK I have a routine down.It is sealed and impregnated with paraloid b72 to last a lifetime, though antler in general doesn't have a problem lasting a lifetime on it's own.
There's an area in the back, behind the rose-shaped spiral, where you thread your cord or chain of choice through. It is roughly 1 and 3/4th inches from top to bottom.

I hate it when I hurt myself, but it comes with the territory! I've seen some whicked scars on older carvers. just gotta be careful!

They make gloves to HELP prevent cuts, look into those. They have an middle later of wire mesh or something.

That's really cool! I'll have to try the techinique though I think it'd take me a lot of practise to get anything like such a dramatic piece
