Is a really interesting point. When I found out about Severus love to Lily I loved him! I just can't describe how does that make me feel... But it was so... impressive, I guess.
And the fact that he always protected Harry, even when it doesn't looked like he was doing it... you give to the fact some sort of... reason

i happen to agree with you. i think part of the reason he was so nasty to harry was because he wanted herry to be his, not james, and james face with lily's eyes was something severus just couldnt handle.

I love this couple to tears, ever since I read the fifth book, where it just so happened that my devoted faith to James times Lily began to die and finally left this world in book seven. *nods* Snape is certainly gonna be parked there for a while. I mean... he went through so much and yet he still has a devoted faith to the friend whom he cherished most in this world. I just find that so touching... (book seven is definitely my favorite now; can't really help it)
...and my friend said it was a "fan-girl's dellusion" when I brought up the concept of Snape actually loving Lily after the sixth book was published ... ...
