If you're one of those people who have gotten really good at drawing Knuckles wrapped around Rouge or vice versa and appreciate the pageviews you're getting out of it, then go right ahead, I'm not trying to start a fight here.I personally just don't see the attraction between these two when it's painfully obvious to me that Knuckles is just meeting Rouge's playfully false advances with confusion. He's been stuck alone on an island for who knows how long, and for all that time he's never seen any girls. As a result he treats both genders equally (ex. "Get the @#$% off my island and leave my @#$%ing emeralds alone!!") Along comes Rouge, who not only is a sassy type with feminine wiles, but also loves shiny things like it's nobody's business. She goes after Knuckles' gems and ends up getting the usual response; as per some form of revenge, she harasses him as often as she can on how ignorant he is on the female persuasion, while at the same time still trying to filch his stones and generally pissing him off even more.
I honestly don't see any form of romantic bond between these two. *shrug*

I agree. Also she is probably just trying to get the master emerald, since knux is so gullible XD if you ask me, shadouge seems more reasonable.

To me, Rogue has an attraction to him because of that. Because he's different, and doesn't treat her like everyone else may. Makes him stand out to her.

Personally, I always thought Knux stood out just PASSIONATELY in her mind because of the fact that he doesn't have experience with girls, and therefore doesn't perhaps pester her or treat her differently like most guys would. (And I don't mean the other main characters, obviously... Just the opposite gender in general.) I always figured she found his equal treatment quite charming and modestly sexy.
Besides, there's just too much evidence that she doesn't really want the Emerald anymore. If she wanted it, she's a qualified enough spy to snatch it when he's away from Angel sometime.
Second besides, everybody has base instincts. Knux is just disciplined enough to control them.
Sorry, but I look at the details in the games and have found, undeniably, that I adore Knuxouge.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Knuckles didn't know how to treat a woman, and for that, he has my sympathy, besides he is my favorite Sonic character.
Knuxouge is my favorite and only Sonic couple I like. If you don't like it. Its perfectly fine.

Now, I don't support Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge with anyone in canon really...Shadow and Knuckles are both loners; they don't care and turn the other cheek from her either way. Rouge is the one with the eye 
But SEGA's stated Rouge's crush on Knuckles plenty of times [SEGA video game profiles, game guide manuals, *if you must, visit SEGA's Official Central website* and Sonic X *official website* profiles], whether fans see a romantic bond or not 
But Knuckles is Rouge's "secret, I don't let anyone know" crush which is what SEGA has said ever since her character debut, and Sonic Adventure 2 made it painfully obvious in one single scene. The Dark Brotherhood also directly states they have a connection they won't go into thanks to whatever denial crud going on.
It really depends on which "universe" we're going off here. Sonic X and SEGA video games to me, had different interaction between the two. In Sonic Adventure 2, Rouge's temper and immature childishness could literally out match Sonic X Amy's to where it she made Knuckles look tame and more 'mature' than her save for the corny outbursts, whereas in Sonic X, her 'flirting' to 'just about anyone' is like most of her personality, while Knuckles is WAY more aggressive than usual. 
Their "romance" is the typical unresolved tension in denial leading to hate/love, fight-flirting, and it very well may play on, "I'm so damn attracted to you like hell I'm going to REALLY let you know without putting on some kind of facade to clash with you." Precisely like "Dating Cat Woman" the TV tropes, but less of, "Will They or Won't They?" The Master Emerald is the Knuckles/Rouge flirting device that actually 'magnets them' into the same frame. It's meant to be a comic relief 'pair' to keep the audience of kids entertained, since gushy and outright romances are dull and boring to watch to actually keep a whole audience of kiddies from yawning. So it's just for comic relief and pretty much, 'they'll never REALLY get together' the way Sonic/Amy is...and I don't even see a hugely romantic bond between them either! Oh my God, SEGA sucks at this romance stuff
SonicTeam plays on these kinds of pairs on purpose----there's a barrier between each one of the fan pairs all these fans have made up to stop the notion of them ever getting into outright or serious relationships.
They're all kids for Christ's sake. The only person who's an adult is Cream's mom or Vector.
The only word associated with their relationships would be, "the possibility of dating and crushing." Nothing more. Ship Tease, you could say. And all these egotistic Sonic boys do NOT have romance on their mind. Hell, they're more interested in duking it out with each other than even taking one glance at these girls.
That's the only thing I believe in when it comes to Sonic couples---it really is just fandom, and SEGA keeps their finger on the pulse of it by screwing with us. Doesn't mean it'll ever happen.
But, also note that this is a canon love interest pair [just due to Rouge; we're left to just ASSUME Knuckles' reactions, since apparently SEGA's left a tab on it saying Knuckles doesn't 'know' she does, and if a video game outright says they have a connection...who knows] and that IS something that you need to acknoweldge. Fan interpretations don't really matter; what SEGA constantly says back to back is what goes. As long as it's said more than once, really---since these game guides can really screw up sometimes, such as messing up on Rouge's age or saying "Hyper Shadow" is the same as "Super Shadow"
But in addition, no one really cares about Rouge's love life, Knuckles' love life, Shadow's love life, Tails' love life [notice how fast they killed off Cosmo], Sonic's love life [he's had twenty girlfriends and never sticks with one of them. Why? Because fans will rip them to shreds]...SEGA probably knows that. >w>; The only 'pair' they seem to focus on is Sonic/Amy, and even that is "Will They or Won't They?" or "Just What the Hell Are They?"

The funny thing is, I ship.
I had my childhood fun with the Sonic games, so until they redeem themselves, the only thing that's interested me in the shallow end of the pool. I ship one of the most popularly hated and popularly supported 'pairs' of the little shipper's fandom, so combining the fact that I'm a shipper, AND ship this "certain pair," people possibly and automatically presume....that I'm retarded.
I've always defined this shipping bullock as this:
"Unresolved tension is more important from a producer's point of view, and the fandom sees it as more open to their personal interpretation. The matter of the fact is, all couples are fanon gossips instead of ever being actual possibilities. You can only use 'canon interactions' to interpret what you see out of it."
Honest to God people need to stop taking these pairings so seriously to the point of screaming at other people that, "they swear it's canonically true and they're in the deepest truest love evar."
It's embarrassing.
I talk about my "pair" to make a point. Not to say it'll ever happen, that they're in love, or are canon.

I don't mind shippers, so long as they understand the canon and are able to draw the line between what they fantasize about and what the characters are really like. When someone comes over to my page and complains about something I drew, going on about "but don't those two love/hate each other?" showing how much they don't know about the pairing, to the point where they're jumping on ME about it, that's when I feel like I have to set someone straight. Mostly, this just has to do with SonAmy.

I know what you mean. The act of taking an assumption way too far. People take a slightly hinted fact [or more like fan interpretation until everything is out in the open] and turn it into something such as, "they're in love/in hate." And that's fine. It's what fans do. But don't say it's true, or canon, people...unless SEGA said so @w@; It's all about being biased. That's all it is. These pairs are neither of exaggerated love or exaggerated hate whether they're canon or not [and sometimes it's just neither. What, people can't have neutral bonds anymore? Platonic and romantic aren't the only ones], no matter how much fans wish for it. Wish for it in your fandom, don't shout it's for SEGA's canon.

Well, I think it's generally a "one-sided" kind of relationship, since Sega's official line is that she has "a bit of a crush [though she'll never admit it]."
