Description Costume: Princess Zelda - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Felt I needed a few more Zelda pictures up. It was COLD that day!! I need to justify that shoot with a few more pictures. I think it was single digits that day. Happy happy joy joy. I seriously can't wait for spring, but the groundhog has forbade spring for a few more weeks. BAH!

Have any questions about the costume?? ASK!! I promise I don't bite.

Not one bit. It was RIDICULOUS outside. I actually am wearing warm winter boots underneath the costume though, instead of the nicer princess-y boots that I have. Cold~~~

Wow, this looks fantastic! Especially the shoulder plates; from this distance they really look like gold.

If you don't mind me asking a few questions, what did you make the shoulder plates out of, how did you make the blue piece on the skirt, and where did you get your elf ears? Two questions are just for curiosity, one for practicality...I'm planning to cosplay Saria sometime soon, so I'm gonna need some pointy ears of my own. Thanks!

Oh my goodness, thank you very much for your wonderful comments!!

As for your questions, the shoulder plates are made out of craft foam. Actually, I'm planning on making a craft foam/armor tutorial and putting it up on DA, so that will be more detailed. Well, the skirt (I take it you mean the design on the purple part of the skirt??) I painted the entire thing. I outlined it with a pencil, and the used paint. That took a while, not much of a painter.

As for the ears, the website is [link]

They also have an EBay page if you have an account, they are made of latex, but they are the most realistic ears I have found.

I hope that helped!! But I can't wait to see your Saria cosplay. OoT is my favorite Zelda!! But let me know if you have any more questions.

Yeah, the design is what I meant. It's very impressive! You did a great job. I'll be sure to check out your tutorial on armour when you make it as well, it sounds really useful.

Thanks for the link! It looks like a great place to buy them. If you don't mind one more question, I've always wondered...how exactly do you attach those ears?

(By the way, Ocarina of Time is my favourite Zelda game, too. You can't beat those awesome classics).

For the ears, use spirit gum. I believe the store sells it. It comes in a bottle, and it's only about $3?? Pretty much you just put a drop of the spirit gum on part of the latex ear, and hold it against your face until it dries. So it acts like glue, but it can stick to skin. As for the tutorial, I hope it will be helpful. I've never made a tutorial before, so I hope it's helpful!!
