VISIONS OF ESCAFLOWNE

Folken, who is really Van's elder brother, is the Chief of Staff of the Zaibach military. He stays on Zaibach's gigantic Floating Fortress, the Vione. Folken frequently reports to Emperor Dornkirk, and they communicate with each other on an intercom in the fortress. When Van is captured, Folken reveals to Van who he is. Folken tries to convince Van to join him, but is never able. Folken has subordinates, including Zongi, Naria and Eriya who he sends to do the dirty work for him. After Naria and Eriya are killed, Folken loses faith in Zaibach and heads to Asturia after making peace with his brother. There he assists Asturia in their fight against Zaibach. He decides to head to the Capital of Zaibach in order to kill Dornkirk. However, his sword breaks when he kills Dornkirk and he is stabbed himself and falls to his death.
Folken is the eldest son of the King and Queen of Fanelia. After his father died, Folken headed to face the Dragon in the ceremony to become king. However, Folken refused to kill the Dragon, wishing to end the tradition. His arm was eaten by the Dragon, but his life was somehow spared. He was saved by Zaibach and was given a mechanical arm. There he learned all he could about sorcery and became Dornkirk's head sorceror, designing things like the Stealth Cloaks. He was then promoted to the Chief of Staff.
Folken desires for what's good for the world, however he goes about it the wrong way. He is a lot more considerate than his usual companion, Dilandau and is often dissappointed when Dilandau overdoes things. He also shows that he cares for those less fortunate than him, such as Zongi and the twins Naria and Eriya whom he saved years before.
This guy's wicked cool. The hair, the cloak, the tattoos and so on. He's also got an interesting past. It is really sad to see him die though.
