Peppy: "Rocket Jumps certainly were a lot more explosive back in the day..."

A Star Fox Commission done for @/Zalno (The boy who cried "NYEH") on Twitter.
Despite having a fully fledged Commission price sheet made up I haven't technically opened up Commissions yet.
I recently started at a new job and my work/personal schedules have been all over the place (which is why I've posted such little art lately), which is also why I haven't really been doing commissions but, when reached out too, I'm more than happy to work with an interested commissioner as long as they're understanding about my awkward schedule.

And after hearing what Zalno was looking for, I couldn't resist the idea! (I mean come on, this is me we're talking about. do you honestly think I'm gonna' turn down the offer to get paid for drawing Star Fox fan art?)
They wanted an illustration of Fox, using his Smash Ultimate design, with Rockets in his boots. Pretty simple really, and after bouncing some ideas for the backgrounds back and fourth with them I set to work.

I gotta' say I am really happy with how this turned out!
I've never been the biggest fan of Drawing Fox's SSBU design, it's a great design don't get me wrong I just don't like drawing it, but after this I'm actually much more open to drawing this design in the future!

The background was really fun too, I had the idea for Peppy in a text box while driving to work, and I figured using the term "Rocket Jump" would be a fun little nod to Soldier from TF2, and by extension Rick May.

Also, I know I've done a few lens flares at this point but I gotta' say the one I did here might be my favorite one I've done so far. they are just really fun to make!

All in all, I had a great time working on this, and I really appreciated Zalno's patience with me while working on this project.
My life has gotten really complicated all of the sudden, and I haven't had as much time to draw as I'd like to and with how hard I've been working at my new job I've been too tired to get anything meaningful done even when I have had the time.

But it's partially for that reason that I'm so proud of how this turned out, that despite everything I can still do what I love doing and do it well at that!
