Description
On November 11th 1994 Sonic Triple Trouble was released for the Sega Game Gear and it marked the debut of none other than Fang The Sniper.
Happy 25th Birthday, Fang!
Hoooooooo Boy, have I been working on this for a while.
This took me nearly 5 months to finish, I had finished the sketch for this on June 27th but after working on it digitally for over 3 weeks afterwards, I wasn't completely happy with the results I had gotten and had a severe lack of motivation when it came to actually finishing it.
So after stressing over it for about a month I decided to shelve the entire piece in hopes that maybe I'd find the motivation to complete it at some later date.
Fast forward to mid October, I was a little over half way through with Inktober and realized that Sonic Triple Trouble's 25th anniversary was coming up soon.
since it's the debut game of my favorite character in the franchise I figured it'd only be right for me to draw something for the special occasion.
Suddenly this piece, in it's half finished state, came to mind and I thought to myself "Hey! Why don't I redo that piece but change it to better reflect Triple Trouble!".
The Location was changed to Sunset Park (Act 3), instead of a Steam Locomotive is was a Electric Cargo Train, and I mirrored the perspective having the train traveling to the right of the canvas instead of the left.
The sketch looked pretty good, but once I began working on it digitally, something just didn't feel right, some things that had worked on paper just didn't look right digitally, and while some parts of it looked pretty good others looked bad and the whole thing started falling apart.
I decided to open up the .MDP for this to use as reference on how I might fix a few things, and the more I looked at it, the more I began to like it and the more I wanted to finish it.
So after getting a second opinion from my sister (who has a pretty good eye for art), I decided to finish what I had started and give this the finishing touches it deserved.
And in the end I'm very VERY happy with how it turned out, and I'm quite proud of this!
So yeah, this is turned out to be more a celebration of Fang than Triple Trouble. oops
