Description Austin whirled, surprised and terrified, to find the hateful brown eyes of his father, Flynn, staring daggers into the back of Sam's head, while Andrew, although still just as angry, looked more concerned for Austin's safety than for the man standing next to him.

However, the presence of the human made Andrew freeze up instantly on instinct. It was certainly something he hadn't been expecting. Not to see Austin so easily within the grasps of a human, and to see Sam there too. It was something that he didn't trust.

"Austin," his voice warned carefully, not letting his grassy eyes waver from the emerald greens he had locked onto. "Come on over here, kiddo."

Austin didn't move at all, still watching both of his parent as if he had never seen them before.

The feeling he had in his stomach was making everything boil the wrong way. Usually knew what he could do, how to get out of a situation, but this was way out of his league. He had never had to deal with the overwhelming fear of having his nearly step-son so close to something so dangerous. He had only had nightmares about said thing. Austin was just standing there like nothing was wrong, but the tear tracks on his face was saying something else. The way his eyes were red-rimmed and scared.

Austin wasn't looking back at the human with those terrified brown eyes, no, he was looking directly towards Flynn and himself.

Flynn on the other hand looked like he wanted to strangle the man with his child. The human behind the both of them just seemed to be a mere distraction instead of an immediate danger. His hands had curled completely into a tight fist and there was a deep fire in those same hazel eyes. "What the hell is going on here," his voice was dropped an octave, showing just how serious he was.

Sam instantly knew that this wasn't good. There was nothing good about this at all. Flynn looked pissed and Andrew looked like he was ready to take the kid and run. Honestly, he couldn't blame him. "This isn't what it seems," he tried to propose, and Flynn had sneered at that. The air behind them shifted and he spared a look back to his brother, seeing from the corner of his eye that he was getting ready to do something if he needed to protect him. He held a hand out to stop that. "Austin came in here hoping this room was empty. He found us instead."

"You really are a pet," the brunette snarled, and Andrew nearly flinched at the poisonous tone. He had tucked his hands into his pockets as Flynn stood there, shaking with a rage that he didn't know the man had within him.

Dean stiffened at the accusation. "Now you hold that right there, he's not-"

"Did I ask you?" Flynn spat finally, brown eyes moving to challenge the human's, his eyes were hard and unwavering, showing that he wasn't going to back down just because he stood underneath four inches.

He blinked, green eyes wide with how the man had responded to him. If anything, Dean had expected the person to back down and recoil into himself, to show the fear that he always got from someone Sam's size, but instead, he had been challenged and growled at.

"No, I don't think so. You didn't meet my child earlier this morning." His eyes hardened back onto Sam. "What the hell is this? You trying to brainwash him into staying with you and your human?"

"Flynn," Andrew hissed, his tone a warning as his hand snapped out and latched onto his wrist, keeping the man rooted even further in place.

"Dad-" Austin began, trying to speak out, his heart sitting high in his throat.

"Don't," Flynn ordered sharply, trying to keep that conversation for a later time.

Austin persisted instead. Knowing that this first encounter was turning into a mess real quick and he needed to stop it from worsening, however, when he felt his father's eyes lock onto him, and he watched as the fire softened for only a moment, before being reignited. However, he was going to stand up for himself this time and he was going to prove to his dad that he had a good judge of character. He could do this. "I promise it's not what it looks like."

However, what was very apparent was the way that his eyes were starting to water again. He wanted to be wrapped into his father's strong arms, held carefully and lovingly like he always was when he got scared, because even though he was acting tough in this very moment, Austin was scared of the consequences his actions would bring onto him later today. How running away might have affected Flynn and Andrew deeper than just this sudden burst of anger.

His hands were shaking with his emotions and he sniffled finally, startling the four men out of the staring stalemate they had found themselves in and the hate in Flynn's eyes died almost as quickly as it had come. Andrew stood quietly, seeing how upset Austin was getting was heartbreaking and everything in him wanted to stop it right now. Sam just found himself feeling a bit awkward about the entirety of the thing, and dragging Dean into this way hadn't exactly been a plan of his.

"I w-wanted to prove to you that I could do things on my o-own," he cried out finally, his emotions getting the better of him as the child stood there, stock still and his head dipped downwards, trying to hide the fact that he was on the verge of tears. He didn't want to seem like all he did was cry, and sniffle and grovel about petty things, but this was getting bad and he knew it was his own fault. "I didn't want you and Andrew thinking th-that I couldn't do things on my own! I-I'm thirteen dad, and I-I want you to know th-that I'm ready to do this sort of stuff by m-myself."

"Austin, that's not what this is about-"

"Stop!" He whined, eyes pleading his dad for this short time to speak for himself, "please, just l-let me say something." The tears that were so thick in his voice, were now apparent as he looked up and met eyes with both his father and Andrew in turn. "I al-also know what happened to L-Leanna." He noticed instantly as Andrew tensed upon revealing the information. "Sh-she had been taken by humans. The humans d-down the hall from this room. A-and I think S-Sam and his brother c-can help us get her and m-my friends back.."

Flynn froze, there had only been a few things that had come to mind for a moment. HIs gaze flicked to Sam, the anger from before had been replaced by something else. Still a little hateful and distrusting, but he then shifted his eyes to look to Dean. "You two are related?"

The question was almost something the two hunters hadn't been expecting. "Yeah," Dean spoke up after a beat of silence, "Sam's my little brother."

"Bullshit," was the first thing the man said, before clearing his throat and ducking his head, almost as if the first word had been instinctual.

Sam flinched slightly, as if expecting something else, but before he could say anything in his or Dean's defence, Flynn was speaking again.

"I want to say that's impossible, but from everything that's happened so far, I'm starting to believe that it's the exact opposite. However, his attention didn't linger on them for much longer and his eyes flicked back to his emotional son. He was going to say something more, when Andrew laid a hand on his shoulder, giving him a soft look and turning his attention back to Austin.

"Austin," he said softly and the boy flinched as if he had been physically hit, and it nearly made Andrew flinch too. "Hey kiddo, my dad and I aren't mad that you ran away, okay? We got scared. We didn't know where you went and when he went to check on you, you were gone. To find you here scared us worse, we weren't sure if you were okay or not. You scared the living hell out of us." Austin finally looked up, brown eyes watering and tired, his exhaustion was shinning in his eyes. Now that was a punch to the stomach if Andrew had ever felt one, and his eyes softened to something even more than before. "Austin," he said again, crouching down to get a little bit more to his level, holding his arms out to the young boy. "Let's get you home, alright? I think we all need to come down from this high."

Austin took Andrew up on the offered comfort almost as soon as it had been given to him. He pushed away from standing close to Sam and launched himself into his arms, wrapping tightly around his waist and hiding his face into the shirt he was currently wearing. His sobs came heavy and Andrew held him tightly. Everything he wanted to do was to hold this kid forever, to protect him and to make sure that he was safe. That nothing bad would ever happen. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, almost feeling a sob latch in his throat as well. Andrew then straightened up, taking Austin into his arms as well. Austin wasn't a heavy boy to carry and he shared a look with Flynn as Austin's hands curled into the back of his shirt, clinging to him like he was a lifeline.

Flynn still wasn't done with the other two. He laid a hand against Andrew's shoulder and smiled softly, only before patting Austin's fluffy curls. "You get Austin home," he told him gently, and they shared a small kiss of affection, before Andrew turned on his heel and managed to manuver his way down the cord.

Flynn went back to staring the other two down.

Sam cleared his throat after a moment before looking to Flynn finally. "I get it, this looked bad to you."

"Really bad," he corrected.

The brunette chuckled nervously before nodding in agreement. "Really bad, but I can honestly tell you that we didn't do anything to Austin. The kid had managed to find us in this room and woke us both up accidentally. He did tell us about Leanna and her children going missing too, and we really do want to see what we can do to get them all back. Especially if they had been taken by humans. I know someone that can help us out with getting them back."

Flynn wanted to say he was wrong, he wanted to point out all of the flaws that could listed with such a plan. It was just something that he had picked up on through his years living like this. As someone that stood underneath four inches in this life, you needed to learn how to analyze everything, nitpick what was safe and what was not. To keep your family safe, you would have to do anything for them, including keeping them away from people that could be or are associated with humans. His eyes flicked between Sam and Dean, trying to decipher what would be the best course of action. Anytime else, and he would say that the best course of said action would be to get the hell out of the presence of a human, but the other part of him knew that sadly, both Austin and Sam were right on this. Who better to rescue Leanna and her children than a human as well?

He sighed, a sort of response he was used to giving, before pinching the bridge of his nose as if he was being put-upon. "As much as I want to refuse any help you may have to offer, I really can't."

The silence was very telling. The resounding quiet said that the other two were nearly startled by the fact that Flynn was agreeing to something.

"I want - no, I need - your help to get Leanna and her family back," his stern brown eyes had changed to something much softer. A sharp vulnerability. "Can you do that for us?"
