A Autoblindo AB41 in use of the Panzerdivision "Tatra" Diviaky(Slovakia) october 1944.

The Infanty is of the SS-Sturmbrigade "Dirlewanger".

The Division "Tatra" was in use along side the new formed SS-Sturmbrigade "Dirlewanger" against the Red Army in Slovakia 1944. The "Tatra" was often involved in heavy reattackes on the position of the Dirlewanger-Unit. During the battle of Ipolysag the Brigade "Dirlewanger" scattered or Deserted on the Frontline ( the whole III.Battalion[460 men] Desert). The Group "Schill"(part of "Tatra" was trying to close the breakthrough of the Red Army and suffered heavy losses. The Unit withdraw and meet later with the Division "Tatra" 5km behind Ipolysag.. The "Tatra" statet about the unit Dirlewanger: "Einsatz der Sonderbrigade nicht tragbar, erbitten Ablösung. ("Use of the specialbrigade is difficult, asking for replacement").

I case you not aware: The Infamous and notorious "Dirlewanger"-Brigade or in Germany often reffered as "Bluthund-Brigade" was a Penal-Unit of the SS. Unlike other Penal Units, the men within this formation were recruited from KZ´s and different Prisons for Soldiers(Anklam and Danzig). The Formation is most known for their crimes in Belorus and Poland in 1942 until 1944.
