I feel you too, love that movie and the BIG G. himself.
After watching it in the theatre I think I left my brain the there, because my mind was BLOWN AWAY.
And if the next film is anything like first one or even surpasses it completely I think I'll spontaneously blow-up before it even get to the good stuff XD

Anyway, love it, gonna favourites this, awesome work

Just saw the movie, too! I am already a huge Godzilla fan, and this movie blew me away! My personal favorite part had to be the buildup to Godzilla using his atomic breath!

Yessssssssss. As someone who grew up on Godzilla movies (and dug through Blockbuster back in the day to keep finding new ones. This was before the internet when you didn't know how many there were or what any of them were about), I was enormously pleased that they didn't manage to screw up the new Godzilla movie. The bits with the monsters are some of the best ever put to film. I wish the final fight would have had more lighting (the night fights in Pacific Rim were all well lit and easy to follow), but the Mutos being living EMP's kind of makes that impossible. The bit in San Fransisco bay during the daytime was just amazing though.

My only real complaint is how dull the human cast was. I get what the movie was trying to do, but the cast just wasn't strong enough to pull it through. Lieutenant Whitey O'Bread was just so dull, and his story to reunite with Wife and Son was such a typical disaster movie plot-line. It didn't ruin the movie by any means, but it did drag down the non-kaiju parts, and is a bit of a flaw on the overall film.

Still! I enjoyed it overall, and it was a solid start of what I'm hoping is a franchise. I'd just like them to tighten up some of the bolts in the sequels. Focus on the humans less, or give us a more compelling cast of them. Oh, and now that Godzilla has gotten to warm up by pounding on some random mooks, let's throw some proper Toho baddies at him. I think the second film would be too soon to bring in Ghidora (he *has* to be a big deal, end of the world sorta deal), but there's plenty of other monsters to toss at Godzilla in the meantime. Oh, and Mothra. Gotta have Mothra in this series, she's one of the only kaiju that is actually reasonable. Also adorable
