NightmaresAnother part of the Reflection series.
I swear I put Nightmares to shame with this one. I love how Jewel and Dream came out! Golden and Purity auras. When Jewel uses this aura, white particles fly like snow around her, raining upward and rising toward the heavens.
Dream and Blueberry are the only ones who get the same eye treatment like Jewel, the rest get the Sans eye-light treatment lol
Like the version with Nightmare, Jewel's parallel to dream is the fact she has the ability to feed off of Positive emotions as well as negative. Dream is constantly recharging her and she gets overly charged with Blueberry added to the mix. Dream, however, doesn't overly feed on people, so her relationship with him is obviously better than her relationship with Nightmare as he's literally toxic to everyone. In every sense of the word. When Jewel's on death's doorstep because she had used too much of her positivity magic keeping herself alive, it's Dream who figures out how her healing magic works, simply by being by her side. He feels the positivity from her, and can tell when he uses his healing magic to try and save her how quickly she responds. It was even more apparent when Blueberry tried to do his thing and kind of will his willpower to stay with them in her. The two purest beings in the multiverse fueled her just by being there. AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE WAS YET! All they had to go on was Ink's word.
Once Dream gets to meet Jewel on a one-on-one basis, they talk. He tries to help her with Nightmare and they discuss her magic. She tells him that she might be dangerous for him, Ink and Error explained how their powers work, she's worried about how her negativity will affect him. It becomes apparently that unlike everyone else in the multiverse, Jewel is the one person who they cannot feel the opposite emotion from. It's why Nightmare wants her so badly. She can be kind all she wants, but he can't feel it. Just like Jewel can be angry and want to rip someone's throat out and it won't bother Dream. This is because of two primary reasons. One, empathy, she is so used to keeping her emotions in, it's automatically pulling it back from view, except what the two boys are the most sensitive to. And two, her special circumstance regarding how her powers work. Her emotions are "contained" for other empaths, or in this case, the primary forces of positivity and negativity.
Dream, for his part, honestly, is just glad someone is able to see him for who he is. His aura doesn't change how she feels, he tries when she gets depressed. It was the one thing he couldn't just bring someone's mood up. Normally when people are around him and he's really happy, or actively uses his aura to try and help someone in real trouble, people's mood does shift to a more positive light, even just slightly. Jewel is the only one it doesn't work with and he's utterly confused by it. But despite this, she's still pulled out of it by him just being there.
And despite Sans trying to be her big brother, and Jewel's utter refusal of him at first, stating she doesn't want another brother, that it's dangerous, Jewel can't help but try and protect this precious little skele and starts working with him on his aura. She can control her own aura better, as seen in the image, it radiates so much more than Dream's. But Dream's is far more concentrated. Dream reminds her of her little brother a bit too much, when he was a child, and she starts really caring about him. Once she lets him in, she realizes it was stupid to keep Sans out. But she does let him in on the terrible secret as to why...
