WOOT! told ya I was doing Rukia! I finally got around do doing a good fanart of her (and getting volume 18 of the manga!)this really didn't start out with a real idea...I was just doodling and it turned into this (roughly, I made some changes when I traced the sketch onto the copic paper). The only thing that was planed was having her in a dress, becuase she's pretty in dresses XD. In the original sketch though she was looking at a bunny (cuz she likes bunnies, which is why she has a bunny clip in her hair), but I couldn't draw a good bunny. So I went with some made-up species of butterfly and a made up flower species. I know there's a lot of white space...i did that on purpose, it be part of the composistion lol XD
materials: Sakura micron, copic and copic sketch markers, and prismacolor markers on copic marker paper

Stop complaining about how she's sitting on her toes...it's possible to sit like that...I do that sometimes....granted it's not the most comfortable...but I do do that...and I posed is front a of mirrior doing that so I could get the feet right

I like her position alot, it suits how she looks at the flower. ^_^
I sit always like that when going to crouching position or whatever you call it. ALWAYS. I dunno why, but it's easy to me.

LOVE IT !!! Question: How do you do the line art with out smearing it with the copics? Everytime I use my copics it smears the line art!!!
Also, how do you get your copics so clean with no brush stroke/marks and uniform coloring (like no one area is darker than the other, etc)

answer to both: I'm very careful
seriously to prevent smearing of the lineart I have to be extremely careful to not color over the lines. I actually smear my lieart every so often, but I fix it in PS using the clone tool.
To get smooth coloring you have to color areas very fast, and the larger they are the faster to gotta work. Also planning out where to start coloring a section and where to finish coloring it is good, never start is the middle, it's best to start on one side and go to the other.

How do you make your black hair look so well? I got prismamarkers(12) recently and can't seem to make the black hair work for me.

I used layers of blue under the black first. Then when I did the black over it I went over some of the black again with the blue markers (it's hard to explain XD)

The only thing I would change it that she is sitting directly on her toes. I don't care if she does have powers, sitting on her toes would just plain hurt. And be somewhat impossible. :]

Actually, the butterfly looks like one of the black butterflies from the anime! You've done a spectacular job on this; the composition is wonderful, and the colors are perfect.

Rukia is very well drawn and colored, but if theres something to critique, its that how she's sitting on her feet is unnatural and awkward. Realistically, the balls of her feet would be touching the ground to support her weight, while her heels are giving her something to sit on. The problem with the picture is that it looks like she's standing on her toes, and that looks unnatural.
Regardless, it's a very cute picture.
