Third in a series of three. 1: [link] 2: [link]This is my personal fav of the three I've uploaded tonight.
From my first year of Figure Drawing class. My only year of Figure Drawing class for that matter.
Jus posting this, and the other two pictures, to prove that I can draw in a style other than 'anime'. Surprise surprise. Not that anyone will be interested since it's not a big breasted cartoon
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to view them. I mean it.

i love the foreshortening of the foot and the leg. I personally always struggle with foreshortening poses. you have some really great work.

actually im glad its not an anime figure, I don't like anime figures. Real People are so much more interesting then anime to me. Great Job by the way! I wish i could draw figures like you.

Don't get me wrong - I own a mint-condition, first-print edition collector's of "Batman: Arkham Asylum", and a nearly complete "Sandman" series, among others; I grew up with cartoons as art forms.
But your life drawing shows me something of two people - the model you drew and you as the observer. The best of cartoons can sometimes show this relationship. The best of life drawing always show that relationship.

You have a nice gallery, but these figures are among your strongest pieces. It would be cool to see the results of this style of drawing combined with your anime style. I know you posted these forever ago, but I just came across them.

I did figure drawing once a week for 3 years when i was doing my course, and I STILL can't steer a conte' that well :/
I really like the feet and the knees, there's only a tiny bit of shading, yet they look so 3dimensional and 'real'

Very cool.. I actually like this a lot, especially how you did the joint on her left knee and upper leg. (Random, I know. XD) Your sharp angles and contrasts are really fun.. I love the line thickness variation, especially in areas you might not expect it.
The only criticism I could give is the size of her right foot and leg, and the thickness of her torso.. The leg seems too long, and the foot a little too big to be that far back (at least to my eyes, anyways). If she's twisting the way I *think* she's twisted, I would think that her right side would jut out less, but again, I dunno. You probably know more about what you're doing than me, hehe. Just a few thoughts. n_n
Either way, awesome work~ Keep it up, even if the masses may not always like it!

aww, thank you for looking so indepth at my figure drawing! real life art is so often over looked on deviantart!
and yeah, there are probably a million and one issues with this piece, coz it was from my first few weeks of figure drawing class (it's so hard to get the hang of!) and foreshortening always throws me!

This is one of the most competent student figure drawings I've ever seen. Much better than mine...this is one of those that if it were hanging in the hallway I'd marvel at it. I especially love how you stylized the front portion of the left leg...it's so...hmm...purposeful?
Either way...I think it's awesome.

i'm so much more at ease with the naked human form now, having taken figure drawing for nearly 2 years. until they bend over in front of me to rearrange their pillows or pick up their drink bottles. then i get weirded out again and realise what i'm staring at.

Ah yay! Someone noticed tha line weight variation! Thank you thank you! It's such a simple thing to do - vary the line - but so few people in my class do it. Doesn't bother me thou - makes me look better
