To me first it seemed - it's late autumn, the first frosts...
Is well represented perspective of place.
A pity that you have insufficient cold the winters(the river is not "captured" in ice) - Gudrun otherwise would hardly to deny yourself the pleasure of a ride to smooth ice "track"(of course - on a dog sled, proudly waving the whip
