This looks not dissimilar to my "Killed in Action" picture in the concept.

But could you imagine what everyone's reactions would be if he really did die? I mean, there's Jake... that's self-explanatory. Peebles... she'd feel so guilty from rejecting him so many times. And Flame Princess... she wouldn't even be able to touch him...

I suppose it depends on his cause of death more than anything.
If we look at the comics PB and Marceline were told by LSP that Finn and Jake were dead. Whilst they had horrified expressions for a panel or so, PB immediately said, "We'll mourn later" and to continue the task of defeating the Lich and restoring Earth. She is very task-focused and can hold in feelings until the task is accomplished. Also their cause of "death" was an accident on their own part and PB and Marceline held no responsibility.
On the other hand, in the picture of Dead Finn and Jake I drew, they were killed by the Guild of Assassins because their adventures had left them notoriously high on the price list, which PB might possibly blame herself for because she was the one sending them on most of their difficult missions and if she hadn't tasked them they probably wouldn't be so valuable to kill. Also, the mission is over and done with. So I had PB and Marceline (and BMO) mourning them in that pic.
Flame Princess would be pretty devastated. She would have never gotten to "tier 2" with him, she'd probably hold a lot of regrets.
