Argentina, Mendoza Province. Is a very extensive zone with the highest volcanic density in the world. Eight hundred cones. 800 All together!!

Wow that are many volcanos the only thing that comes close in iceland is the LakygΓga system with 150 cones. But isint it true that the higest volcano ever is at the argentinian and chile border?

Yes, where the Dakar rally are running. Catamarca Province has three volcanoes of about 6.500 mts high.

Are the standard Icelandic volcanos but not as huge as yours.

For me this shot is just perfection.
I think the composition is fantastic. It would have been easy to just concentrate on the volcano's in the background yet with the foreground interest and the white circle the ey is constantly drawn throughout the image and back to the centre again, which is ideal.
The colours and tones are subtle yet each strong enough not be missed. They are the kind of colours that I aim for in an image and rarely achieve, here they compliment each other to create a brilliant shot.
My criticsm might be that the size ratio might be a little tall, I think either square or preferably given the subject a wider aspect would have given it a little more punch. However given the placing and structure of the mountains I think that would of been quite difficult.
Overall stunning shot that gets better the more I look at it.

The yellow one? Tipical vegetation growing capriciously. The only vegetation all around
