Description I got the picture on the front done on sunday and thought YES! YES! IT'S DONE! YES! NO THE SIDES! And then 2 more days spent on decorating the sides. I made a pattern in scale of the picture on the front from fav.me/d4pa9k0 so thank you for making that, it really made my work easier. I did check the picture from the game to make sure it was correct though, and it's a very good picture. I scaled it by hand (because I'm too stupid to just print it out in scale, but then again the core isn't cut out perfectly so I drew the outlines of the core and then scaled the picture. Tools used in that were a harp, angle ruler, ruler, mechanic pencil, eraser and a calculator. And it took around 3 weeks to draw the damn thing. Which is sort of ironic since it only took 4 days to felt the actual picture on the gate. But I'm so glad I had the scaled picture because it would have been impossible to make without it and drawing the thing by hand at first made me familiar with it. And I sat there in front of the TV making sure I had the gate done right and noticed that I had not drawn the picture correctly. It was only missing a few lines and some dots so it wasn't hard to make it right then. I'll upload WIP pictures showing how I used the picture to help me so you'll see I actually made good use of it.

There isn't any pictures where you can see the patterns on the sides of the gate so I sat in front of my TV again, drawing the patterns on the sides while the gate rotated on the screen. I seriously hate drawing moving targets. Makes you want to shoot the bugger and take a picture while it's bleeding on the ground.

The bugger is still drying out but I did take these pictures now because I'm not good at the whole waiting thing. I got the wet part done yesterday so my gate is still moist. Actually it's still dripping if you even give it a light squeeze.

Measurements are 38,5-46 cm diameter (both of them in there since I'm thorough at least in something) and 7,8 cm thickness. Rubber foam core, base colour needle felted on and the the patterns needle felted on it, wet felting, topped with ironing and letting it dry.

Why are all my felting work in the category "Never again"?

Xar! Go find my marbles! This made me loose them and I can't find them anywhere! Mail them to me if you run into them.

So am I! โ™ฅ

I was just discussing with CalicoStonewolf that it looks like THE most awesome little pillow thing, since it's needle felted. :3

It has a almost half a meter diameter. Not so small. But yes I do love it. Felted things that big though take several days to dry so I get to look at it when I go to the bathroom but that's all I'm getting out of it so far. I've never really been the kind of woman to have cute pillows around the place but since the couch needs something put behind my back to go lazy on I thought why not make something awesome. Needle felting is only part of it it has a rubber foam core that has a about 0,5 cm layer of wool on it and it was wet felted so it's not going to lose shape and the wool doesn't come of even in harder use. I don't have the patience to needle felt things all the way and they're a lot more durable when you wet felt it since it turns into actual felt and doesn't stay just soft and wooly. Wet felted thins are more dirt and dust resilient, a bit water resistant so if you spill something on it, if it's not much you can just wipe it off. And the best part of it is that they don't lose shape when you sit or lay on it. I've only ever once done a thing by only needle felting it and that was enough for me. After that one I've just stick to wet felting it in the end and using needle felting only to attach the patterns on before wet felting.

Oh, I've never been the biggest fan of cute decorative pillows either really, but I agree- sometimes it'd be nice to have *something* to keep your lower back from hating you later, and by all means...if you're going to have a throw pillow, why not have something that you'll love forever? I adore this thing, though sadly I don't think I would have the patience to even try making one myself. My patience lies elsewhere. I can understand totally the "not doing that again" mindset after spending so much time on something like this. At least it's worth it in the end, and a most awesome one of a kind piece of art. ^_^

Thanks. I just still can't get over the fact that drawing the picture took over 3 times longer than actually needle felting it on the thing. I could have done it in 3 days but had to be social so it took 4 days. Then again after I had done 1/3 of the picture I just stared at it thinking "Why can't you finish yourself?! I don't want to do this anymore!" I might make another couch pillow in the form of Majora's Mask eventually since I absolutely love the small mask version I felted earlier but right now I have the Manta ray waiting and the core of Bongo Bongo has been going around the floor nearly for a year now but I'm not that good on male anatomy so I'm afraid I'll mes up the arms and especially the armpits. But I love undead things and I do want my Bongo Bongo. Too many things unfinished and waiting. Story of my life.

Hmm... from what I gather, men tend to have deeper armpits than women. I'm sure DA has plenty of good stock photos you could use as anatomy reference. If you haven't looked for any already, it's a thought.

I totally understand when it comes to unfinished projects. I think it's a cause and effect of just having too many good ideas that can't wait.

I have found images of men both drawn and photos but considering the position that Bongo Bongo is in it's not exactly something you can find easily. Hanging from the ceiling with it's back towards you and lower body in a 90 degree angle with the throat/eye facing you. A bit of a challenge for anyone to pull of as a position so pretty hard to find images to correspond to it.

And projects come so fast and when you hit a wall with one you stop that one and move on t the next and then new ones come and you notice that you have 20 drawing, 5 felting works and a long list you have thought that you want to do from cernit and then you remember that you're still a student and should graduate at some point too. Sitting here with a toothless chain chomp that I should finish now. That's how it goes.

It looks fantastic! Great job!
And about those marbles... I'll try to find them.. but I'm haing problems of slowly loosing my own with all this moving and packing stuff... I'll try tho.

Thanks. I'm glad it's over. Except that now I have to wait for it to dry out before I can start using it. Then again I don't know what to use it for.

Thank you! And yes it did make me go insane. Or at least more than I already was. But like I said. All the felting I do is pretty much in the Never again-category.
