300 DPI on a regular home scanner/printer. Then adjusted in Photoshop for brightness and contrast, which also helps tone down any pencil lines.

Your fleshtones are leaning too much on the yellow side. If you are doing this digitally, you should be able to mix your colors, or explore your palettes more. And I like how you are adding shadows to your colors. Keep it up.

I went and redid this one, because I wanted to get it just right. I'm much happier with the way this came out the second time around!

I appreciate you being open to critiques. And no one's asking for perfect, just as long as there's progress and improvement. You'll eventually find balance between technique and style, but it's important to understand both.

I've been in art for a long time. I've learned to see critique for what it is. Yeah I don't mean perfect, heh I am a good artist that is working to be a great one. This is new to me though. A life long comic/cartoon fan just giving something new a try. I agree, technique and style are not only important equally neither are a thing that can be taught very well. It's just one of those hands on things you must absorb through working at it. I save most of my work in stages and I'm going to take my version of this down to one of the more bare stages and try and get the flesh on it right.
