Every detail of the bird's feathers is clearly defined. The log with the moss on it is a perfect foil for the bird and adds interest. Nature has provided the green background which shows off the birds colors to great advantage. Beautiful art photo!

Such a charming bird, I've always had a weakness to them and this one is a true beauty. Not just how you can sense an intensive presense but also how good this whole capture this is. The composition and focus are just perfect and the balance between the colours truly works. Is it a male or a female? I truly adore the feathers and their colouring but the thing that captured me staring are the eyes; so full of emotion not to mention the head cocked in such a lovely way.

Gorgeous bird. I don't think I've ever seen one of them before. I really like the russet of the feathers against the powder blue of the beak!

Sweet! I love how its head is tilted like thatβ€”and the crystal clear quality of the photo really highlights the those feathers. Really beautiful.

Nice work--The 400mm must be a lot of fun to work with---although I still think I would turn off the IS and use a tripod--I'm sure I would get a lot of fuzzy shots trying to handhold!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

guitarjohnny In reply to WindCrest [2006-04-10 15:05:44 +0000 UTC]

I dont like to carry a tripod along so its great for me and a tripod makes the animals more difficult to follow. and this one has 2 stabilizers one is a normal the other for panning

WindCrest In reply to guitarjohnny [2006-04-11 23:20:06 +0000 UTC]

Nice--I sometimes carry a tripod around all day, then only use it for a few shots! grrr

I have a monopod and its difficult to get used to it so it stays more home then bringin it along

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WindCrest In reply to guitarjohnny [2006-04-14 00:09:45 +0000 UTC]

I like to use my monopod---but it needs a ballhead so that you can change the angle/orientation quickly and easily.

Pretty! It almost looks like it's got a bit of a sheepish/embarressed grin on its face. Kinda like, "Oh, you're taking my picture? Oh, eh-heh...thanks...*slight blush*" I like. ^_^
