The details in this are stunning, what lens did you use on this? I need something with longer reach and have been thinking about getting a "Bigma". Anyways, an excellent image

guitarjohnny In reply to kkart [2007-03-21 19:29:08 +0000 UTC]

thank you I took this with a Canon EF 100 - 400 a bigma is cool not one of the sharpest lenses though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kkart In reply to guitarjohnny [2007-03-22 11:13:40 +0000 UTC]

True, the bigma isn't, especially at wide open. My other consideration is the tamrom 200-500 which is supposed to be sharper....if I could find an affordable Minolta 100-400 G I would be all over it, but the way Minolta glass has gone like rising gas prices since Sony came to town....I'd be better off finding a winning lottery somewhere

guitarjohnny In reply to kkart [2007-03-23 04:55:07 +0000 UTC]

true about sony and they didnt really surprize me over there quality hehhe hmm tamron one of the sharpest photo I saw was this [link] still soft at f/8.0 though but the price of this lens is very nice

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kkart In reply to guitarjohnny [2007-03-26 11:56:45 +0000 UTC]

Ya that lens is really nice from what I have heard and read. I would love to get my hands on THIS lens [link] but there is NO WAY it will stay anywhere near that price, not a chance with how expensive even used glass is now going these days. I may just bite the bullet and go old skool Rokkor 400 and m42. It's a tough call cuz the Sony full frame body is just on the horizon it seems....and I really want one.

guitarjohnny In reply to kkart [2007-03-26 12:46:34 +0000 UTC]

so many cool stuff all so expensive..funny digital started expensive then cheaper and now we all go back to the expensive parts again simply cause slr's are so much better but who knows what the future brings and sony + slr hmm not impressed yet

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kkart In reply to guitarjohnny [2007-03-26 12:51:19 +0000 UTC]

Ya I know, what comes around goes around....funny,

Sony+slr.....the a100 is ok.....but the new upcoming cams are more Minolta than Sony, thank God. These were the cams that Minolta was developing when Sony took over. And now the Zeiss glass! I think I better go rob the bank lol Check this out [link] that first cam is a MONSTER and that is based upon the Maxxum 9D which never came out, and from the petaprism and Zeiss letting it slip out in a lens announcement, its FF
