Description "I know he's here; I heard him laughing."

I actually started this several days ago, and I have no better purpose for doing it than to test out my old Wacom Bamboo tablet. My nice big Intuos died a couple of weeks ago, and my daughter brought my old Bamboo up from school. To tell you the truth, I was not very impressed with the Intuos, and am disappointed that the thing just quit on me after two short years. But, as you can see, I'm back in business with digital pictures. And, this was also a test bed for Corel Draw and Corel Paint. Not the greatest thing I've ever done, but definitely fun.

"There he is...got him."

The Simpsons are the property of Matt Groening.

Oh believe me, I'm not that clever...I've just drawn these guys for five years. It also helps that I have the big cheat book that the artists put out. It's kind of costy, but definitely worth it if you draw Simpsons on a regular basis.

also please don't stop drawing - thew amount of Simpson giantess is so limited

keep it up thanks

Sure - www.amazon.com/The-Simpsons-Ha… . Kinda costy, so I bought mine with a coupon from Barnes and Nobles. Also, the comic books and freeze frames from the show are also a huge help.

Oh, yeah - I've got a Frazetta-type pic in the works where I have Marge as a frost giant. Thanks for the praise.

Yeah...I just sort of fell into that niche. I found my little thing and just did it.

Bart is always great at hide and seek at that size.

Indeed like Kefka Palazzo Bart gives himself away by his laughing.

Anyway excellent perspective on the pic, I like the use of shading and mushrooms. If I have a criticism it's that Marge and Lisa should be looking downward at least a little bit, they know Bart is tiny, they wouldn't be trying to find him by looking straight ahead.

Faved.

I think they're more likely listening for him, but that is a good point - eyeline is important. I think I had them not looking down because they had visually lost him at some point.

As far as Kefka goes, I had to look that one up on YouTube. Kind of a more flamboyant version of The Joker.

Oh yeah he's flamboyant all right, he tries to destroy the world and largely succeeds. There's a reason why the second half of FFVI is called the World of Ruin.

Actually the best description of Kefka is this trope: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…

"Life... Dreams... Hope... Where do they come from? And where do they go...? Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!'" - Kefka Palazzo

::chuckles:: sounds like one of the quotes I'd have Maggie say when she talks. Bladerunner has been a great source for that.

Here's my version from my fan fic Penultimate Fantasy VI.

β€œLife, dreams, replacement bus services. Where do they come from? Where are they going? I shall destroy them all! Sell me a train ticket then put me on a bus will you? For this you all must die.” - Kefka (Played by Smithers)

I still have a sketch of Burns as Baron Harkonnen. Skinny as a rail, he floats around with those suspensor globes. When he backs up, you hear the beeping of a truck backing up. If I was able to do that as an episode, I would have the batteries start to burn out on one of them and he starts to sink on one side; "Batteries...someone...a little help would be nice..."

On my Dune picture I was originally going to have Burns as the God-Emperor worm thingee...

A very funny take on both "The Incredible Shrinking Man" and "Land of the Giants."Β  And you're right about Intuos tablets.Β  I tried to use one and it totally went south on me!Β  What a waste of time and, especially, money!Β  If I ever meet the man who founded Intuos, I may punch him in the mouth!Β  If I can find a Wacom Bamboo, I'll give that a try since you seem to have better luck artistically with that particular device.Β  BTW, this new pic is quite well done.

Thanks! This piece taught me that I need to rely more on vector drawing, rather than just trying to do it all in Corel Paint. I like the Wacom product, but it's just cobbled together like a Yugo.

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2014-11-02 19:08:18 +0000 UTC]

Well, if Wacom is such a lemon as you say, then I'd better just stick to drawing old school; pen and ink and paint.

I'm drawn to it...it is interesting. It's really just an extension of what we do as artists. I talked with one poor kid that thought he could just buy all this stuff and do art; he was disappointed when I told him, "You've got to know how to draw first..."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2014-11-03 00:06:30 +0000 UTC]

Believe me, many is the time I've told would-be artists that having the best materials doesn't mean a damn thing unless you can draw first and that it takes a lot of practice.Β  And yet, there have been so-called artists who can't draw stick figures and yet whose "art" is praised by art dealers and critics.Β  Jackson Pollock is one example.Β  All he did was dribble and splash paint onto huge canvasses and today, these "splotchwork" paintings command outrageous prices at art auctions.

It reminded me of some guy in HR in one of my buildings that had bought a really expensive set of golf clubs. My boss told me, "Hell, that won't make him a good golf player..."

Yay, more shrunken Bart! I love this series.

It's kind of funny how Bart is laughing evilly despite the fact that he's hiding from people the size of skycrappers to him.

BTW, you've already done a few pictures with Marge and Lisa look for the tiny Bart. Are you going to do one when they finally catch him?

That might be funny to play around with. Well, I do have that cookie one where he steps on to fly paper...

I'll leave that up to your imagination; I've never done a full-blown eating cartoon.
