Description The one little twin walked up and snatched a package of cigarettes from the one woman's purse. "Laramies," she said, "boy have I been dying for these. Now ladies - listen up. We're gonna have to ask you two to grow up early - you're going to need to drive a car. Now driving is the easy part - it's the shifting that is tricky. But we'll get you through that."
The girl continued, gesturing with the palms of her hands. "It's just getting used to that clutch. Clutch, gas. Clutch, gas. Okay girls, let's get going. Vamos!"

I had two more ideas that hit me during this mindswitch thingee, and this was one of them. Or should I say, two? anyway, here are the others in this series:  www.deviantart.com/gulliver63/… ,  www.deviantart.com/gulliver63/…  and   www.deviantart.com/gulliver63/…  . God, that means there's at least one more...

great picture, Sherrie and Terri switching brains with Patty and Selma, that is a cool concept, yet i have not come across an episode of the Simpsons where something like this had occurred....
perhaps it might be something that the makers of the show would have to look into.

It's funny because they've done it in Futurama and Family Guy.

It's a fun as hell concept, playing on what's called the "fish out of water" story.

*chuckles*

This actually raises an interesting question, since the psychological need to smoke would be there for Patty and Selma but not the physical need for nicotine, would they actually smoke while they're in Sherri and Terri's bodies?

My guess, they'd get hooked on sweets, deserts, thing with lots of sugar in, boy is that not going to end well for the twins.

You know, that's funny...I haven't smoked since 2001, and was never really hooked to them, but I get the urge every now and again to light up - I don't because I'm dead set against them (that was how we lost mom).

Yes, that's exactly it, even when people have no actual need of, whatever it is, booze, tobacco, whatever. There's still this little voice saying, do the thing, do the thing. All you can do is say no to it, I guess.

Although I hadn't smoked in a while, seeing what a bi-pap mask was on my mother made me want to smoke even less.

She suffered terribly from schizophrenia, and cigarettes and her country music kept her from losing her mind. The sad thing is that I had to buy her cigarettes for her  (which were incredibly expensive) after dad passed away - I feel a little like she shot herself and I bought the bullets. I know I shouldn't feel that way, but in a way I do.

Yeah, that's a fairly awful circumstance to begin with. You have my sympathies on that one.

Gulliver63 In reply to Thegonk [2019-06-13 23:21:40 +0000 UTC]

I was stunned at how much they cost: back when I was stupid enough to smoke, they were 75 cents a pack. Now the suckers are about $5 a pack, and a hundred dollars for two whole cartons.

Thegonk In reply to Gulliver63 [2019-06-14 17:42:48 +0000 UTC]

Well, yeah, various guberments took against smoking in a big way. They're not even allowed to display them in shops now in the UK. If you want them, you have to ask for them, then they're taken from under the counter or a cupboard.

Gulliver63 In reply to Thegonk [2019-06-14 18:55:21 +0000 UTC]

They're just really expensive here. Now e-cigarettes are becoming all the rage, as I might imagine in the UK as well (or not?). Almost hard to believe that Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble at one time were used to advertise Winston cigarettes.

I'm not even sure how to comment on this mind switcheroo scenario.  Still, the Gruesome Twosome switching minds and personalities with Sherri and Terri, the little walking cans of itch powder, does present a whole range of comedic possibilities.
A very original cartoon concept.  Of course, Patti and Selma in the bodies of Sherri and Terri should realize that the MacGyver TV show went off the air over a decade ago.  Well done.

Gulliver63 In reply to kiff57krocker [2019-06-08 23:32:59 +0000 UTC]

You know, it's scary...Sherri and Terri will have to shave their legs early, and have strange cravings for nicotine. And on the other end of things, it's sad to hear a 8 year old with a cigarette hack.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2019-06-08 23:41:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, an 8-year old child with a smoker's cough would be pretty sad.  Sherri and Terri are annoying enough as themselves, but to suddenly have them exhibiting the personalities of those two nicotine-stinking, moo-cow sisters of Marge Simpson is just too much to take in.  And if either Sherri or Terri were to score some smokes and light up, what if somebody, say Bart Simpson, saw them?  Talk about awkward!

Gulliver63 In reply to kiff57krocker [2019-06-08 23:48:57 +0000 UTC]

::laughs:: Poor Bart had switched with Edna, so he'd probably enjoy a filter tip with them. :: Remember - there's at least one more of these I'll burden you with. A clue? Just think comic books.

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2019-06-08 23:52:46 +0000 UTC]

Comic books can conjure up all sorts of images and scenarios that you could put Patty and Selma in.  Hopefully, not as superheroes.  You know, just once I'd like to see you portray Homer Simpson getting one over on the Detestable Duo.

Gulliver63 In reply to kiff57krocker [2019-06-09 00:02:27 +0000 UTC]

::laughs:: Maybe they could lay down a smokescreen like a tank or a destroyer...

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2019-06-09 00:42:34 +0000 UTC]

An interesting notion.  The way those two smoke, a smokescreen would be possible.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gulliver63 In reply to kiff57krocker [2019-06-09 20:57:26 +0000 UTC]

::laughs:: as bad guys, what would they be doing? Robbing cigarette trucks?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2019-06-09 22:15:25 +0000 UTC]

That's a definite possibility, the way those two are so addicted to nicotine.  Thank goodness all I smoke are cigars.  Then at least I don't suffer through any nicotine "jones."

Oops!  Pardon my backfire.  I thought you meant cigars.  And yes, many brands of briar pipes are quite beautiful.  I might have gone into pipe smoking, except that pipes require a lot of care between each smoking session.  Cigars are so much easier to deal with.

Oh, we used to consider ourselves amateur Tolkeins and smoke a big calabash while reading. Sort of the same way kids with hot rods like to fire up those engines. But what's funny about all that fancy shmancy flavored tobacco they sell, I still thought King Edwards in a can was the best of any of that stuff.

Different tastes for different people, you know.  A great many pipe smokers enjoy flavored tobaccos.  Personally, I enjoy the smell of regular pipe tobacco such as Walter Raleigh and so on.

Walter Raleigh is another one sold in drugstores that tastes great. Those others smell fantastic, but Walter and King Ed just taste best...IMO.
