Description Initial inspiration (bottom left pattern): [link]

Used 6B pencil for shading, 2B for everything else. Looks like the scanner messed it a little, ah well.

I'm fascinated by lines, patterns and spirals. So I thought I'd put them all into one in this. I'm no artist, but I thought I'd give sketching a try- sketching things that fascinate me.

This is my first piece. Any feedback would be appreciated, especially since I'm starting out. Be brutally honest. ^_^ I know next to nothing, but I'm trying to learn.

Thanks. ^_^

I love how you break it up with the bottom right corner. Adding a sense of orientation to the image. Very nice. Although it really brings the "Down the rabbit hole" concept to mind from Alice in wonderland.

Talent? No way. Picky, a little curious and in need of practice? Perhaps.

Thanks boxy!

Hey gulsie, this is quite good. I like how the spirals actually draw your eye to the middle and make it feel like you're tunnelling. Looks 3-D too.

And oh, since you wanted me to do another sketch, I did one just then and posted it here: [link]

Thanks hood! That's why I like spirals, they draw you in and it almost feels like there's no going back hehe. I like how the shapes change form depending on their position, but unite to bring out the overall effect.
