Blubber is a companion and a rare species of Bubbly. Blubber was born in a bubble capsule adjacent to Kirby's house when Kirby noticed him. It was a sign that the round little bubbly had come from the stars. When Kirby came into contact with Blubber, its DNA merged with Kirby's, causing the colors around its bubble body to match Kirby's skin tone. It also matched Kirby's warpstar's tail in appearance and color. Blubber, who now lives with Kirby, has become his cousin and second best friend, alongside Bandana Dee.

Blubber is a brave and energetic effervescent who is nice and sociable. He can fly so fast that he can outwit other Dreamland residents, yet he also has a great deal of respect for everyone on the globe.

He enjoys hugging anyone, and unlike other bubblys, a hard hug does not cause him to pop, because Blubber is incredibly strong and resilient. Even if he is unintentionally popped, he is uninjured because he can revert to his regular state.
