"Hey, Mazda, can I ask you more about what it was like growing up in your original world?"

"Sure, Mommy. What did you want to know?"

"Well... You had both of your parents around a lot of the time, right?"

"Most of the time, yeah. As I said, my original Mommy took over for Aunt Merc as Ranga Girl after she died, and Daddy made sure she was always prepared to come home safely."

"Probably with his usual 'training' methods, I'm sure. So your first parents got along pretty well?"

"You betcha. I'd watch them at night all the time."

"WHAT?!"

"If I had to get up and go to the bathroom after my bed time, they would be cuddled together on the couch a lot and never once got mad at me for needing the help 'cause I was still scared at the time."

"Oh... phew."

"A lot of times, I'd cuddle with them too until I fell back to sleep."

"Guess that explains why you're such a cuddle bug, huh?"

"One thing I'll never forget is what Daddy said to Mommy that what she'd said to him was the sweetest thing she ever could have told him."

"Oh? What was it?"

"'You make me glad I was born a girl.' Do you feel that way about Daddy in this world too?"
