Perhaps, I'm simple you."Trying to work on refining my style a little. Lately, I haven't been happy with my work, but I rather liked how this one turned out.

Why don't you look up Bloodtail on fanfiction.net? It's absolutely fantastic.

It's a Sonic fic with DMC thrown in and it centers around Tails.
I won't spoil it for you, but it is BADASS.

The nicest thing about the fic is that you don't have to like Sonic as a prerequisite.
See, the author creates an entirely new universe from the bottom up, using an original story that doesn't require you to know the world of Sonic, and only borrowing bits and pieces from Sonic or DMC as background information or builds to help flesh it out. It's genius.
And he starts it from the very beginning as something that sets itself apart from the Sonic universe on a profound level, building a history and an explanation for the existence of the Overlanders (people like Eggman), the Xorda (the aliens responsible for the creation of both Overlanders and Mobians), the Mobians (people like Tails or Sonic), and how they got their countries, the ensuing wars, the demonic invasion, how Tails became fused with the spirit of Sparda, the war with the demons, Tail's being betrayed by Sonic and-
Whoa, I'm going to stop before I ruin it.
The point is that it's even BETTER if you don't know the Sonic Archie comic universe (since that's where it's based) or you don't like Sonic, because you don't have to to appreciate the story, and you can get an even better impression of how purely AWESOME the story is.

Sorry, I just hate it when a person won't read something because it has a particular topic involved.
Actually, to be honest, I felt I wouldn't find a decent Sonic fic, and I thought about looking for something else when this came along and blew my mind.
It sets a new standard for storytelling. One more people should live up to.
Of course I also have other things I can recommend, even though that one is the best of them all in my opinion. Except for maybe Kit-Karamak. Now THERE'S an author...
