I have saw the video of the SDCC trailer of the new Steven Universe episodes and this makes me think that what if Lapis betray Steven and the Crystal Gems or Stay and fight along side them.I imagined that Lapis will betray the Gems, so I drew her using psychic powers against Steven (even though psychic powers is not hers, itβs water). The betray part was inspired by the scene of Pokemon: The First Movie, where Ash Ketchum was about to punch Mewtwo but it used psychic powers to stop Ash.

Oh please stay, Lapis, this would be a humongous turning point for you! It's be like Lapis' version of "Lars' Head", especially if what I think is going to happen with Peri's dialogue!

I think you mean "stay or run away." She's not betraying anyone by running. And she's only thinking about running because of the incoming threat of war. Lapiz is kind of a survivor/prisoner of war and I doubt she wants to go through what she did again. Even if she does run, she'll probably come back once she realizes the Earth is her home too like Peridot said.

I think if Lapis stays and fights beside they Crystal Gem at the end, the treason to run away cannot be avoided at the start. And if she betrays definitively those who stay, I cannot think that she will fight (it is not logical of run away to escape the fight to fight all the same).

I want her to stay. Her betraying everyone (especially Steven and Peridot) would be too heartbreaking.
