It is referencing the madness of THIS GAME . You are a mouse. Your sole purpose is to obtain le fromage. It is more difficult than it sounds :C (you're also guided by a player picked to be the mystical mouse shaman, who will either aid you in your cheesy efforts by building strange contraptions or making sure that NO ONE GETS ANY CHEESE)
not that this makes it sound any more plausible!
