What do you do when fellow man turns away?
When everything solid is gone.
No hope but the bottom of a bottle.
Even suicide isn't free.

They said that you could go to school and it
would guarantee a future.
Yet the hard concrete of the alley looks
the same after college.

You started low and weren't allowed to move up.
You needed money to get
the money you needed to get and you need
jobs to get hired at all.

A vicious circle is keeping you down and
people look away, guilty.
They know they have more than they could ever need.
Anyway, it's not their fault.

So you sit in your box all alone and empty.
It is your home but still
they won't hire you because you are 'homeless'.
Where would they even call you?

Society has just one message to send you.
Where you are is all your fault,
so stop sitting around there clean yourself up
and stop being so useless.
