Sketch commission for of her fursona, Jenir.She gave me a few references to base the dress off of, one for the corset and the other for the bottom of the dress. She wanted a Victorian-type dress and I added the fan to go with the theme.
At first I was just going to do faint shading but as I progressed, I really liked how her dress and form were coming to life from the paper. I added darker shadows. I really enjoyed doing the lace and fine details. I was going to leave the background rather empty....but added some texture with my markers. This gives off that antique feel to me and I like it. ^^ *rubs hands* whew...

I only think the nose is funny, maybe it should be at the middle of the mouth...

There is some considerable amount of fine detail in her dress there, particularly with her corset and fan as the floral design of the said articles is absolutely outstanding to the eye. Iām very impressed by how well you portrayed the design, but I also felt you did well on the other parts of her dress as well, such as the folds of the top cloth portion of her dress, the frilly portion underneath, and the trim of the gloves as well.
That was really well done Alicia, and great work on the pose as well, as it seems fitting for a elegant lady in Victorian dress. Awesome work there.

whoa, impressive amount of detail there. O_O I like details cus i'm overperceptive XP you did a good job on the shading too. it looks like those old b/w photos.

Wow.. I'm amazed. When I saw the sketch, I assumed that that was it, really.. I wasn't expecting this level of detail. I guess I got lucky, lol. I think you did an absolutely fantastic job. I love the way the dress and corset came out. The fan makes a lovely addition with the matching print.
What I also love is her expression - how vain she looks. The background is nice, actually. It doesn't take away from the details of the character, but it's not overly simplistic.
You did a great job on her hair. I think it's just another part that really makes this picture what it is. I was swept away by this image. I can't thank you enough, Guyver. Really! Thank you so much. ^_^

lol.. Her expression, in my opinion, looks snooty. She looks rather full of herself, as though she were convinced of her own superiority. But that's what art is all about, different interpretations. To me, it's as though she's looking down her nose, which I've always taken a sign of vainity.
