The third Chibi ODST pic: Buck, who uses the good ol' Assault Rifle, my personal favorite Halo weapon.A bit of a drawing slump hit me once again... hopfully I can at least get these guys done soon.

Sorry, I hadn't known this was on deviantART, I just found your image on google images as some forum icon so I thought it would be okay to use it as my own icon and simply edit the color stripe on the helmet. Not claiming anything of it. I can remove it as my icon for dA if you want me too but you did a wonderful job making this ODST chibi, as well as the others. X3

See, I love the Assault Rifle in the ODST game, but in all the previous titles, it has horrible damage! What gives?

Bungie seems to hate what they did with it in Halo:CE... As it was pretty much the only weapon you need until the flood showed up... And even then, only the Shotgun was better.
So they removed it from Halo 2, giving us the Battle Rifle (Yay!) and the SMG's (Booo!)
It returned in Halo 3, but crappier, with a lower mag count... And the Halo 3 version is sadly what ODST got... Even if it did seem a bit stronger.
Thankfully the Assault Rifle in Reach is pretty tough... even with the 32 round mag...

I didn't like the SMG until ODST.
And then I loved it, so much more than the Assault Rifle. Then I started using SMGs whenever I could, even in Halo 3.
It's saddening that they don't have it in Reach, but it makes sense,(I don't know about any in-universe technology stuff or anything, but) a standard SMG is pretty much the same as an Assault Rifle if you can't dual wield or zoom with it.

Naw, they weren't too bad. I'm just a bit butthurt about loosing the Assualt Rifle.
I liked to time it, so that I was firing one then switching to the other when the first one reloads. If the enemy isn't dead by the time the second SMG's clip ran out... The first was already reloaded and ready to go.

i know! not only is that the smartest thing to do with duels, but it really helps in a big slayer match (or campaign)

Yeah, I see what you mean. I love the BR, but the assault rifle was just so sucky in Halo 3, y'know? I could swear it has more stopping power in ODST, though. xP Oh well!

I think the stripe on his helmet was gray, though, and Rookie's is white.
Then again, I see this was made a fairly long time ago, really, compared to the game's release. XD
But yeah, nice job, anyway; I like it. ^^

Actually, no I didn't. It's there. The hilt is a bit hidden behind the pouch, but the sheath is clearly there.
