Description I don't really know why, but I simply -hate- doing complex things by step-by-step instructions. Especially drawing. Even though I like many tutorials here, I can't follow them through to the end, I get depressed. I guess I need the talk around or something. I learn best when someone is beside me, showing what to do for the few first times. If I don't have someone for that I stubbornly try to do it myself, without really knowing what am I doing and expecting, that I will get it as fast as if told what to do. Or even faster. Getting horrible results of course and stopping trying altogether for months.
It's a very, very stupid way of doing things, I am very much aware of that. I don't have enough talent to do that. Then again I am certainly not perfect, quite the contrary. I am an idiot in many things.

So today after ten days of sickness away from work (which seems to be the only way how I could get creative these days ) I have said: enough of that. I tried to start again, choosing the middle way and watching tutorial on Youtube.
And this is the result - generic anime guy or something, with too long face.

Just to be clear - I don't aim for anime, but I don't want to draw realistic faces and this is close enough to learn from.

Will I continue? I don't know, but this somewhat worked.
I will scrape it later when I get better. I would have all my things in scraps otherwise...

Not bad! Not bad at all. It's not what I know as your style, but once you'll learn the basic shapes, you can experiment with style all you want. It's a great beginning!

Anyway - if you need someone to sit you through this, have you tried to ask LiduΕ‘ka? At this moment she's better than both of us combined...

Of course you don't. It is not! Definitely not.
Well, thank you... basic shapes are what I have to learn and what I don't like learning Wish me luck with kicking myself into actually following through with this... I so hate to be limited by my incompetence

I did. She's of little help, she's too intuitive to actually explain what she's doing and used to follow my lead so when I discus things with her, we end up not knowing what's wrong or right on the picture anymore because I am able to make her doubt her eyes and experience... which is wrong in so many ways... But just drawing with her in the same room and chatting is very nice

I'm in that state of mind pretty often. And too lazy to search for references when I need to draw something complicated.

Aha... I guess we'll have to wait a few more years before she can teach us, then. Until then, there's the pleasant company.

Well, first what I am to say is to wish you to be ok soon. (Btw,my health state has not been ok for few days as well. ... not rather mentioning the psychical one .. XD, though I am laughing)
Hm, I don't think it's a bad attempt of yours, this piece. As for me, I would have never been able to do such a thing my own .. May hell bless the PS.
Hm and I have to also comment on you proclamation that you are an idiot in many things. Well, I don't think that those things should really matter then... because everyone is good and bad at something. I know it's easy to say, and I mostly do not consider this fact when treating myself ... but I wish you to be far more successful at this point.
Be well, and may those girls from your squadron watch over you.

Thank you I hope you will feel better soon as well
Of course everyone is bad at something That doesn't mean we are all very happy about it, does it? Being an idiot in so simple and logical things is just facepalm-worthy, that's all
Don't worry, I know what really matters
And don't be so tough on yourself, ok? No one likes perfect people

Well, there is nothing to thank me for, eh. Well, I know that everyone is good and bad at something, this we can not change. But we should not care that much. Yep, that's good you know what really matters. You know, I found myself ,few days ago, that I actually didn't know exactly. Everything seemed to me just transitory. And since then I have felt kinda lost, in a way. Strange.
Hm yep, no one is perfect, that is obvious. No one can like perfect people because they do not exist. (perhaps just on a painting)
Have a nice day, or dreams - depends on when you are gonna read this.
