I've been to the canyon for snow maybe 20 times. I've never had the storm clear out before the morning, meaning I've never gotten actual light on the canyon after the snow. The one time the storm DID clear out, was the morning I was rear-ended by some kid in a jeep.

He was flying along in a jeep, going way faster than was appropriate for conditions. I was cruising at about 15 wondering if I wanted to turn into Grandview Overlook. At first I thought I'd been hit by a snow plow.

He was trying to get to a location to shoot a picture. So while the sun went off, I was on the side of the road, waiting for a ranger while suffering greatly with back spasms. And he could have simply steered around me....
