Just like on the Jungle Book: Shounen Mowgli, that Tabaqui is a striped hyena, but he and his kinfold are referred as jackals. I thought that Tabaqui really is a jackal.

It`s a translation error in the English dub of the anime, other dubs correctly call them hyenas.
