Poor thing...all he wants is friends. Not fangirls. And this is coming from a fan of the pokemon. I'm a big fan, but not a rabid fan.
If I was in this scenario, I'd definitely hug Darkrai and protect him from the fangirl horde, but not go beyond that. Maybe even distract them with a cardboard cutout of Mewtwo to get them off of his trail.
