you know - this is suprisingly good for a "hold the camera myself pic" - and we all have them, from online personals, to our blogs, to our candid webcam shots on devArt. I'm impressed by this one for whatever reason. You obviously love to be looked at, to represent something; and perhaps, a little, to play with people's perceptions of who you might be. Hey - we've all done that too, right? I have a grateful dead tattoo on my leg - I love living with my previous lives under my skin...you'll never regret your tattoos, and, perhaps suprisingly, your beliefs will change and grow without ever outgrowing the persisting inkspots (like a band you tire of after the hit single).
You've captured a great punk sneer, and your right eye is perfectly placed to draw, well - the eye. I don't know what kind of camera you have, but if you can increase your f-stop and maybe even grab a lens with a longer focal length - you could make this same shape really snap by giving it max depth of field and fully blurring out the background.
anyway, I stumbled in, and I'll stumble out - nice pic.

Holy shit - your poetry ain't half bad, kid. I just surfed on by your website - and you've got some really readable shit. I don't think I'll ever stop being impressed by young writers who have the balls (and ovaries, of course) to throw themselves out there in waves of ink, unabashed and unashamed on paper. I get carried away by the semantics sometimes until I'm trying to flip verbal pancakes while leaving my audience hungry for lack of substance......
I also tripped over your Hawaii pictures - I live over in Kailua, but my moms was just here to visit (I only gots a moms to - abusive fuck of a father? you bet yer ass ) and I got her a room at the Hale Koa, right next to the Hilton - the Hilton is some swank-ass shit, is it not?
I know it's been a grip or so - but do you remember what tattoo shops were you looking at? Most of my work (like 90% of my shit) is old-sailor, jerry collins stuff (you know, what all the cool kids are inking with) and I found this dude who started out at Sailor Jerry's shop - he's a skin deep tattooing in Waikiki, and his book looked pretty good....but I've seen so much shitty work out here ( there's a lot of artists...but really only because of the huge demand -tourists and military). So i dunno - I'm so fucking picky with who gets to draw on me, and I feel lost without my tattoo museum back in Baltimore......but anyway, I'm rambling.....I'm gonna get a polynesian traditional tattoo - where they tap the spikes into me - that'll rule!
That's too bad about your plumeria - but look at it this way - plumeria is like the fake-out hawaiian flower - it's actually native to Brazil and ended up here by accident...

Thanks so much for the comments on my poetry. I get more negative reactions than positive, but hardly anything at all, so i really appreciate it.
You lucky bastard, I wanna live in Hawaii. The hitlon is nice, and thats always where I stay with my mom, but if I were to go by myself or just with my bf I would want to stay somewhere a bit more quant and understated. I do know what shops I was looking at there! I saved the business cards. Skin deep was one of them, although i don't remember the one I chose to go to. Not that it matters, since I didn't get it. Sailor Jerry is my fav. traditional artist, obviously. Who else is there, lol. One of my coworkers has a book of his flash, and I never get tired of looking through it. Good luck finding the right artist and the right tattoo, let me know how your traditional method works out, I bet that'll be a bitch. I'd love to hear about it. I frequent the tattoo message board on bolt.com, and I'd like to share your story with them if you end up doing it.
Plumeria's are the yummiest smelling flower, and I liked how they fit in my sleeve, buuuut, if you have any other suggestions on what something a little more appropriate to signify my Hawaii trip, I'd be glad to hear them. take care hon!

20.
2 in each lobe, one in each cartilege in my upper ear
1 in each nostril
1 in my septum
3 in my lower lip
1 in my labret
1 on either side of my tongue (known as a pair of venoms or snake bites)
4 in my navel
and 1 vertical hood.
The vertical hood was def. the most painful. omg, I was screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs. Man it was bad.
Piercings actually in your head? Like on your scalp? Or in your facial area? Whichever it is, i wouldn't get them all at once. Take it a pair or so at a time.
